hi guys need some help and advise if possible please I have an telecom veritas 8 panel and keypad, first it kept on going off during weird hours off the night.

I called one firm out they said change the battery which I did, then it went crazy making me to disable it by remove battery and fuse, had the guy that came out who told me it was battery saying it knackered and cost an amount to replace the box keypad and bell, but using original wiring told where to go.

I have manage to get the alarm quiet with information off here, but still cannot reset it, the tamper light is still staying on, and help please so I can get this back to normal

Difficult to follow your post unfortunately.

There was a problem with alarm going off during the night?
Was the system set or Unset?
What was displayed when the system went off at night?

The company you called out looked at the system and advised you to change the battery?
Or did the engineer that come out replace the battery?

The did the system go crazy whilst the engineer was there or after they had left?

Your saying you down powered the system but the tamper light is on?
No power no lights, so doesn't make sense.

It could be on a tamper engineer reset, in which case without an engineers code it cant be reset, if the engineers code is locked then the codes cant be defaulted.

sorry am not the best to explain

the alarm kept going off early hours of the morning reset , did the same for a few days.

I called a firm they told me the battery can cause this if it old or flat, which I change

when I change it the alarm kept going off would not let me reset it so I disabled it.

the guy from the firm who told me t o replace battery looked about 5 min just said I broke without testing, then I get an estimate to replace panel , keypad and box, but not re wire.

I mange to get the engineer code and rest it the box but the tamper light wont switch off that as far as I could get with it.

hope that easy for you sorry

makes more sense, but if tamper is displayed, download the engineers manual online, and look at either a walk test or event loh and the extended list, you should be able to get an idea where the tamper is coming from.

I have the manual at home, try again I no when it was going off it was zone 2 which was the kitchen one, I have a go later or tomorrow, let you no

the zone was set on at ll the times, live nr wigan, I tried again but no joy, suppose my neighbour getting someone out
to look at it

the kitchen zone was the alarm set yes or no?

What device is the kitchen Zone 2?

After you opened the panel up, if it was in engineering alarm would not have gone off.

If you couldn't reset it, then there are various reasons why that would be the case.

1. system not secure
2.engineers reset required, that said it should silence on code entry.

morning zone 2 is the kitchen,

it was opening the panel that set it off, it was few weeks later the engineer who connected the panel game me the codes, which I done.

from there I tried walk through just don't see how reset it correctly, even tried to change the alarm code, but was waiting long time out side for it to go off.

Your jumping around between bits it is very difficult to follow.

Is it powered up?
Is the keypad lit up?
Whats lit up?

Sorry.

At the moment it all off.

When I opened the panel the alarms went off,

Manage to get the engineer code to work, but still not able to fully reset it.

All I could see was the tamper light was on as well with the unset light on

Sorry but cant help you if we dont go through this in a logical order.

a tamper that wont clear, is still present, advised got you look at the event log oe walk test and look at the extended menu which is covered in the manuals.

So unless you enter engineering with engineer code 00 rather than code prog you should be able to do this and find out where the tamper is from.

Hi, I try again tomorrow but am not promise it will, I tried many times without any joy.

I no I did the wireing but it was someone else who set it up,
