Once again we seek the help of the knowledgable folks here to assist us to deal with the issues caused by an errant builder. Our slate hearth was installed earlier this year and as the photos show has cracked. My questions are 1. Can this be repaired or disguised so that it is safe and doesn’t look cracked? and 2. If this does need to be replaced what would you advise we do as the lip of the hearth needs to sit over the wood floor? As ever, thanks to all who read and respond.

I too suffer from an OCD condition that means any & all flaws keep me awake at night, however minor.

Take the oportunity to replace it with regs size if its not 840 x 840mm if ok, my hearth is just two pieces of slate side by side.

No, your condition is one which leads you to mock and belittle people online. How very brave.
