Hi guys and gals,

The thermostat dial on my old Bathstore shower has become really stiff. Same happened last year. I took the cartridge out last year and descaled it for a bit but I was against the clock to get it done so I could turn the water back on.
Needless to say it's the same as it was back then. A new cartridge is averaging about £85 new.

My question, can these things be fully descaled and refurbished or must I go for a brand new cartridge which will cost nearly as much as a new shower? I don't mind biting the bullet and soaking it over night if it will resolve it but not if it's a fruitless exercise.

Thanks

Believe me, you're lucky you can still get the part for a bathstore product and £85 is cheap compared to most cartridge replacements!

However, try a proper descale, clean and lubrication first.
