Has any one out there got any ideas why my boiler is heating up my hot water the pump remains on the boiler fires up every short while, then of mean while the pump is merrily running away and by the end of the day the water is really very HOT. I have just fitted a Hive Active 2, double checked and triple checked the wiring positions as per listed on the Wiring Centre. The central heating is working fine. Any Help will be Gratefully Received.

I have not looked at Hive software, but often there is anti legionnaires software built in which will every so often heat the water to over 65°C. I had it with Nest, could not work out why when nothing set to run, central heating boiler was on, found it could be disabled and that's what I did, it seems this is quite common.

Good evening all.

So it is a;

Y Plan.
Yes the is a cylinder thermostat.
Brand new 3 way valve.
Fully pumped.

Full story, summer time, hot water working fine, 4 weeks ago tried the heating, would only come on when the HW was off, hence new 3 way valve. Still the same problem, so thought programmer, bought a Hive Active 2, fitted and here i am asking for help............ CH working fantastic, HW working but not as i think it should and or was. If it should work like this with a Hive, please let me know!!!!!!!

Legionnaires, i will ask Hive.

Water temp at the tap, really very hot.

Y plan default is hot water, if the white wire is powered then it goes mid way, and if white and grey are powered it goes all the way and stops water to DHW.

So if you lose connection to grey then can't turn DHW off.
This shows how it works.

So tomorrow I will check and make sure that I have not screwed on to the insulation of the wires and not just that they are in the correct position.

Hive doesn't control your hot water temp - it just schedules when your boiler can heat it.
