Hi there, I recently had a door bricked up and replaced with a window. This meant there was a patch of fresh brickwork that needed rendering. I presumed they would match the rest of the render on the house but have come home to the picture below. I presume he is not coming back..

As you can see the new render is a very fine texture and the old a rather lumpy texture. I've no idea what it is called? Can this be made to match or once it is set it that it?

Looks rather like painted pebbledash, or could be called a Stucco finish.
I suspect it will need hacking off for a pro to match the texture.:(

you could go over the stuff with a Tyrolean render but the popcorn effect might be too strong.

the new render has had a float or sponge finish - but its irrelevant, why not leave it as it is, and simply paint it to match with a one same coat over the whole wall surface.
you wont notice it in three or four weeks.

Hi thanks for the replies. Yes I will be painting it white to match. Just the difference in texture will bug me o_O
