How to connect 40mm compression fittings to this boss?

Can someone please advise me how to go about connecting this boss to 40mm compression waste pipes?

The existing shower and whb waste looks like 40mm compression fittings.

I think this is the boss I need - its the "82mm Soil Patch Boss 40mm" from Drainage Online:

How does the 40mm pipe fit onto the boss? Will it be simply with a compression fitting? Or will I need some further adapter to connect 40mm pipe to the boss?

This the vent part of the shower and WHB waste pipe. I need to temporarily divert this waste to the new boss as the existing 40mm waste pipes are thru a notch in the joists that I need to repair.

Screwfix only has pipe bosses for connecting to 110mm pipes. I need one to connect to an 82mm pipe.
