Moved into a flat with a Powermax 155x boiler.

Have the hot water on at set times and the central heating off.

The radiators are getting warm (not boiling hot) still when the hot water is on only.

Just wondering why this would be, and also is this costing us more money as we are effectively heating the flat when we don't need to? I know we can turn the radiators off but we want to put the heating on occasionally.

Thanks in advance.

Do you still have the original in built programmer, these were never the most reliable, you really need to look at the boiler when the rads are heating when they shouldnt be, what lights are on at the programmer etc

Have owned a couple of these in buy to lets. Problem is probably due to gravity flow from the large mass of hot water in the thermal store, just circulating around the rads.
It was bad in one of the the properties, so I fitted a zone valve in the flow to the radiators and opened this with the room stat. The zone valve, when open, then turned on the central heating pump instead of the room stat doing it.
