Just bought this mixer tap off facebook for next to nothing but the guy who sold it to me said the screw on the bottom of the yellow threaded pipe is missing. When I connect the tap water just comes straight out of it. Do you know where I can find the missing part?

The brass rod is probably for a filtered water supply. Does the tap handle/handles have three positions ? So you can have mains cold ,hot or filtered cold ?

Nope, only two. The guy who sold it to me said “the screw is missing”

Think he has sold you a dud !
On some taps that are made to have a filtered supply ,they have 3 handles. Others have only two ,but one handle can move into two positions. Can't see your tap handles in pic ,what are they like ?

I was being dopey, the hose was meant to screw onto this. The missing screw os just for mounting. However it is leaking a bit during operation. Do you know what I can use to stop the leak here?

I tried a bit of PTFE tape but hard to get it in position and it still leaks.
