ProAction A105QS washing machine not spinning (belt OK-pics inside)

Motor starter Capacitors fail all the time. I have changed many on lawn mowers etc. But they are used to start the motor, not keep it going. So not sure if linked to your issue.

The item you photographed is a EMI filter. Not a starter capacitor.

On phone so not sure if same, but similar to this one (I did search for your washing machine name along with EMI filter).

Have you checked both motor brushes?
What does the machine do now - Does it not work at all?

Ok I’m confused. I was referring to the thing I took a pic of in the first post. The cylinder that says aerodev on it.

Is that what I should try changing?
That is a mains suppressor, mains filter, mains smoother it protects the electronics. You have a brush motor not an induction motor so no capacitor. Tumble dryers, dishwashers have capacitor motors. Motor capacitors do fail but I can assure you that is not the case with your machine.

Ah ok understood. What do you think I should do? Belt is good. Carbon bridges are good. No clue wt to do next. Maybe the drain pump?

Can you hear the drain pump run when you start/cancel a program?
Does the drum turn ok when you spin the motor?

Next step would probably be live testing the motor with a multimeter to see if its getting a voltage.

Not sure what a drain pump sound like tbh but when I start a cycle it makes loud pump type noises like it always did.

I didn’t try to turn the motor to c if the drum turns...will take a look at this.

Starting to think it might be easier to just buy a new one lol

very loud metallic squeaking this morning while it was spinning and then stopped spinning.
Could be something's got jammed between the inner and outer drums. Is there a scraping noise if you try turning the drum by hand?

Have you tried taking the belt off the drum motor pulley and seeing if the motor rotates smoothly and quietly?

Starting to get complex now? Does it sound like it’s worth trying to investigate?

As you don't appear to be electrically minded and as proaction machines are not that expensive it would probably be easier, quicker and cheaper to simply replace it as repairing it will more than likely cost more than the machine is worth.

It annoys me to say that too as it shouldn't be
