We've had a stair runner, Wool Loop carpet installed.
They Whipped the edges so it doesn't fray, however at the bottom of the stairs, where it meets the tiled floor, they have left it cut.

As you can see from the photos, it isn't a neat cut and as it isn't finished it will slowly fray, small bits have popped off during brushing / hoovering.

How should they have finished it?
Whipped, folded over?

What should i do when I complain / call them back?

compact, good evening.

Call them and complain.

Not an acceptable finish that will only get worse over time.

Short update.
I called them, sent photos etc.
They have accepted it isn't a great finish, so even though the fitters said that was how they leave it, they have ordered an extra section and will have it whipped, i.e. edged.
So I have gone from calling them CarpetWrong to CarpgetRight :)
Great customer service, as I half expected them to tell me where to go.
