Hi,

Looking for some advice on removing the pipes in the attached picture.

I think this cupboard used to have a hot water tank in it but this was before I moved in and it looks to now be disconnected.

I am waiting to remove these pipes so I can create a bigger cupboard and have only just removed the wood that was covering them.

How can I know for sure that these pipes are not connected to the water and can anyone tell what pipe was for what, eg what pipe is likely to be cold feed etc?

Thanks

Realistically nobody can tell from just a photo.

But .... the 3 port valve looks to have an open pipe which suggests that it's not connected to live pipework any longer and what looks like 15mm pipe on the left seems to have an isolator in the open position.

Unless you're prepared to be cautious and trace back the pipework & crack a joint or too then I'd avoid assuming that it's all dead.

Is there any power supply to the pump or the three port valve?

Hi,
No Power all cables have been cut.
Yes, that pipe to the left I think goes stright outside, like a overflow or something.

I also think the pipes that fed the tank came from the loft judging by the holes in ceiling.
I am right in saying whats left would be what went the the hot taps?

Hi,

I got further into the cupboard tonight and I am still confused as to what these pipes were for?

Looks like the pipe to the left of the pump is going down to the fireplace were I think an old back boiler must be, then there is a pipe returning back up that has been cut.

Also two pipes come down from loft to fireplace that are also both cut up in the loft.

Am confused.

I was going to scrap the copper and bin the pump, is it worth keeping?

Only if you are in the industry and can use the pump to help out a customer in distress... Can't really make on it... Just useful to have on the van :)
