Hi, can anyone tell me what's causing my front lights to blink like this? They're 2 identical lights wired to run from one PIR. This blinking happens as the lights turn off. When it first started happening it blinked about 4 or 5 times, now it's more like 15 or more.

Any advice appreciated! Thanks

Thanks @terryplumb would you replace the PIR or the whole fitting?

It's a little round ball thing - only about 2cm wide?

I assumed the sensor was remote from the light fittings ,is that not so ?

No, it's built in like this one:
ae235

Does each light fitting have a sensor ,or only one controlling both fittings ?

Is the fault recent ,and lights previously worked fine for some time ?

Each has a built in sensor but they're wired to run from one (so one sensor is disconnected).

They worked fine for about 2years and then started doing this.

I'm not sure if the bulbs came with it or not - they were supplied by the electrician who worked on our extension.

Worth swapping the sensors over ,assuming the other one hasn't been stripped out. The small round bit is only a part of the sensor unit ,the " guts" of it are in the enclosure.

Without having personal knowledge of your particular fittings internal composition its not easy to answer that question. Best bet would be the spark who installed them.

If you can get hold of the same light fitting it might be cheaper and easier for you to simply swap out the one with the sensor which hasn't been disconnected. (Doing it yourself if you're comfortable)

I suspect the spark will recommend that anyway
