Hi,

Our 20+ year old Grundfos UPS 15-50-130 Selectric, not within the boiler, probably needs replacing and would appreciate some choice advice.

1. Seems the UPS2 15-50-130 is a direct fit, but cost about £140 and its said Head Only units are available, but hard to find at a lower price.
If buying a complete UPS2 and taking off its head to replacing the old head a good thing to do ?

2. Also found some places , eg SF and TS, stocking the even newer UPS3 15-50 for around £120 which again are said to be compatible.
Again wonder if their pump head only could be swapped over and if they are a better buy than the UPS2 ?

3. While searching seems there are some Grundfos Clones around, under various unknown names to me, for as little as £40, are these possibly ok or ones to really avoid ?

thanks

Hi,

Wolsey are about the same price of Toolstation etc for the UPS3, but looking on Grundfos site and the web and Ytube unable to find its user manual and any info to say if it comes with a standard set of plugs for those sockets ?
Seen a long list of connectors they can supply, but not if any are included with the pump ?

Though a major name, always a bit sceptical about the life of the micro electronics being used, will they last another 20 years ....? Wondering if a dearer UPS2 might be better, though surprised thier price remains high with the new UPS3 being out and lower priced ??
