Yeah, maybe. Blue tits seem to like eating weird stuff too - I've seen em pecking at the putty around windows.
Some years back as part of an exterior facelift on a house I once had to re-putty around a couple of small windows, after every attempt I'd come in the next day to find birds had pecked most of it out, eventually I covered it with gaffer tape or something similar. I assume it's the linseed oil in the putty that attracts them although I've never had that problem since then.
Love the south coast. Was in St. Ives last July when it was a roaster. Could of been the Caribbean with some of the views.
