The manufacturer is now offering me a replacement building in heavier, none tanalised timber.

Given it'll still be the same design, I'm not convinced it will be acceptable. Plus I really wanted the pressure treatment for longevity

Looks as if the supplier is a wee bit "rattled"

If the Spec you have opted for is not present in the new offer from the Supplier then simply i would walk away, get a refund and shop around again.

I agree. They're citing the tanalised timber being the issue, but I don't believe it is so want my money back.

They've agreed to collect the building and offer a refund on 17 December as were soon on holiday for 3 weeks

Next thing will be YES a refund will be made BUT it will take 28+days to process???

Just tell them OK BUT I am looking for interest at 30% above base rate, until I get my cash??

O yes and I want recompense for the anguish I have suffered.

If they do not roll over tell the supplier you are going to kick off at Dobies.

This company is flogging an Inferior product? which some people will roo over and accept??

I think I would be happy to get my money back and be happy with what I had learned in what to look out for in a replacement

I asked them to confirm when I will get my money and how much. At which point a manager at the manufacturer got involved offering me either a discount or a better shed. He said the barn I have is their most popular model and they hardly have any issues.

I explained I'm not interested, I just want shot of the building and I'll use the experience to guide me in sourcing a replacement.

I have lost count of the number of firms that spin the old "wow, you are the first person that has had a problem with our product".

Sealant should never have been used, its such a short term fix (if it ever actually fixes anything).

You just cannot buy a good shed these days, they all appear to be made of crap wood, poorly designed and of such thin wood it's a joke.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues Mugabes - re-affirms my own decision to go ahead and build my own last summer! That being said, I'm curious as to what is causing the issues. It sounds as though it may just be that the roof overhang is unacceptable - just for my own interest, do you have any pictures of the roof overhang on the eaves and end sides?
For what it's worth, the actual timber used doesn't look nearly as bad as many other sheds that I've seen recently, but if it's a poor design, then it's not going to do much by itself!

The last decent shed I bought had a membrane between the shiplap and the timber frame. Kept the inside completely dry and that was without a gutter, although more roof overhang than your one.

Very interesting, we have one of Harpford Barns as does my brother in law. Both leaked, both soaking roofs. Ours has been refelted twice and they keep sending someone out who shakes his head, says he’s never seen it before and will report back. Photos attached, is it the same problem
