Had a Intergas xclusive 36 installed a few weeks back. Had been working fine albeit quite noisey when hot tap turned on.
This morning no hot water from tap. The flame light wasn’t coming on. Turned boiler off and on couple of time, no luck. Heating was working fine. Called Intergas and ran through a few checks and still nothing. The earliest they can come out is in two days!!! Starting to think I should have stuck with Vaillant.
Thought sod this, tried everything why not increase the pressure just for the sake of it, increased pressure by 0.1 bar and hot tap started working.
The pressure was already at 1.8 so wasn’t low.

Any ideas what could have caused this and why increasing the bar by 0.1 suddenly kicked the hot tap water back into life?

Be careful what you say - if you dis the Intergas on here, you are liable to be tarred, feathered and then stoned to death! Perhaps it was one of the 4 moving parts (that they are famous for), not moving and that extra 0.1 bar got it moving? Perhaps a faulty pressure valve?

I was close to be stoned this morning when the family were trying to get to school / work.... but noted ;)

It was highly recommended by various people so was surprised something would go wrong after a month of it being installed.

No, it's not right, may be a faulty sensor ... every kind of manufactured goods can have the occasional faulty brand new one. I'd either get the installer or Intergas out. When you say noisy? Rushing water sound noisy or general boiler sound noisy?

They really are quite excellent boilers.

general boiler noisey. Sounds like the pumps about to take off.
What are Intergas engineers like? Should I expect a helpful engineer or someone whose just gonna turn up and say ‘sorry, that’s normal, live with it’?

There is a flow switch ( or may a flow sensor ) that detects ( or should detect ) when water is flowing through the boiler's heat exchanger on the DHW circuit. This switch/sensor should then inform the control PCB that water is flowing through the DHW circuit in the heat exchanger. The PCB should then turn the burner on.

I would suggest that changing the pressure in the CH circuit would not have any affect on the DHW operation. Probably just a co-incidence that the DHW system began to work after you increased the pressure in the CH circuit.

OK, I'd be getting the installer back 1st of all TBH if it's brand new on the wall and let him make the call for the warranty but if you already have Intergas coming out then no bother. Has it made that sound from the start?

Generally the IG guys are good IME.

They are quite loud as modern boilers go. I've fitted a couple, but tend to stick to the ECO RF as it's smaller and quieter

I know this is an old thread, but maybe ask what was wrong with it?
