Original Kitchen Paint doesn't match

I bought a new house 6 months ago and we had a few chips in the paint around the kitchen, so I touched them up with an existing tin of paint that the previous occupants had used to decorate and were kind enough to leave.

However, upon applying the paint and letting it dry, it appears to be a different colour as the photos demonstrate - I'm now left with patches all over the walls. I think the issue is that the paint left in the tin was the dregs and it may have separated possibly causing the colour difference

I have the original tin but can't seem to find anyone that stocks the same paint.

My question is, would "Overtly Olive" be the same colour regardless of the paint manufacturer? B&Q stock it but not sure if I will have the same issue with their paint

Thanks for your help in advance!

No way is that the same paint that is on the wall. You may be looking at re painting those walls

In future it might be sensible to paint a small patch in an out of the way area and see if it matches before dabbing it all over the walls!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - I had no reason to believe that there would be a clash in colours as I had done the same thing with other paints throughout the house

you live and learn

Armstead is made by the same people that make Dulux trade.

Have you not got any way of contacting the previous owners to find out who the decorator is who did the work, you never know they might know what the actual colour was.

Might save you having to repaint the walls

it looks like the colour off the cabinet and the paint marks on the tin should have put you on notice ??

Just noticed that the tin tells you were it came from.

It was mixed at Dulux decorator centre in paisley

They might tell you which decorator asked for it to be mixed if you can't get hold of the previous tenant
