I realise this is probably super simple for most, but I haven't fitted one before and i'm being cautious !

I bought a briggs mixer tap, it has no instructions for the bag of bits. I have a slim circular washer which i think goes on the top of the sink under the tap?
The other two are for under the tap i assume, they have holes for the flexi taps and the bolt?

Thankyou in advance :)

Take brass nut off of the threaded rod
There may be a slot cut in one end of the threaded rod, screw the other end into the tap, it usually will only screw in so far
Screw in flexi/copper tap tails into tap, cold to the right, hot to the left as your looking down onto the bottom of the tap with threaded rod towards you.
You are correct with the seal, that goes on the tap side of the sink
Feed all that through the tap hole in the sink.
Underneath .... fit the rubber c washer and then the metal C washer onto the threaded rod with the flexi tails held in the C part of the washer.
Fit the brass nut onto the rod and tighten it all up, use a tap box spanner set that's available in SF/TS to nip up the nut
Connect hot and cold water female flexi tail ends to the male connections on the hot and cold services.
Hand tight the nut then half a turn with an adjustable.
Turn on water slowly and check for leaks.

Hi Jeanette,

Full rubber ring sits in lip under the tap, connecting between tap and worktop, the ‘c’ style rubber and metal washer fit underneath. In that order usually. The 2 larger holes are for the flexi hoses, and the narrow hole for the threaded stem.

Remove the bolt from stem, attach stem to the tap and tighten.
Attach flexi hoses in base hand tight, also fit full rubber washer in lip underneath tap and position tap in worktop.
Offer the rubber ‘c’ washer, metal washer and bolt to the stem, and tighten by hand, and finish using a suitable box spanner.
Connect flexi hoses to hot and cold pipework.

Thanks that doesn't sound too difficult, but the rubber ring doesn't fit inside the lip of the tap, am I meant to just place it on the sink, put tap on top it. It is the one that came with the tap honestly! I've attached a pic, to explain better. Thanks, jeanette

That does look rather large compared to tap. Where did you buy it from? Is it this one? Are you able to return it? Failing that you may have to go on the hunt for a washer suitable.

Bought from b&q, the fittings were in a packet in the box, guess I will have to go back and change it
