What kind of screw for rawlplug uno?

I have this kind of anchors (plugs): rawlplug uno https://www.rawlplug.co.uk/product/uno-universal-plug/

The sizes of screw it accepts are clear; however, there is a lot more to screws besides sizes.

Despite googling hard, I couldn't understand what type of screws they should go with: wood screws? sheet metal screws? machine screws? coarse thread? fine thread?

Every source seems to only specify the diameter and length of the screw to use with a particular size of the plug, nothing else!

Also, if there is any other feature of a screw relevant to their coupling with a given anchor, I'd be interested to hear about that.

Plastic plugs work with any coarse threaded screw, that is, almost anything apart from a machine screw.
Therefore you can use wood screws or self tapping screws which has a thread all along its length.

No problem - the Rawlplug universals look like good kit, although I've never used them....Its Fischer stuff for me, the plastic spline is brilliant for anchoring the plug.

My favourite nylon plugs were the Tox ones which seem to predate the Fisher "universal" plugs. The Uno ones have become my go to standard fixings since Tox gave up on the UK market years ago.

My problem with the Fisher ones (assuming that we are talking about the same ones) is that the plug has no collar and can occasionally spin as you insert the screw. The Tox equivalent was sold with and without a collar.

With regards to cavities, thanks to advice on this site I now use interset fixings.

Those are very similar to the Tox plugs, i.e. when used in cavities the plug splays outwards as it pulls itself up the thread of the screw.

I might get some of those. I have previously used the Fisher UX plugs but found that sometimes the screw would sneak out of the side of the fitting.
