Fitting aluminium couplers to Rehau frames?

Whenever possible I like to fix upwards through the cill into the frame bfore fitting siliconing the cill on the frame as well to stop rain tracking backwards and seal the ends to stop water wetting your reveals/skirting board areas, if you must screw down and sometimes theres no other way then screw down, remove the bay screw and pump hole with silicone and refir the screw, that MAY go some way to help sealing it all back up

I should be able to screw up through the cill, I just wondered if it needed a couple right through into the brick below to stop any movement when the door is closed.

Ok, i’ve started baypoling, I like them but the heads a bit small for a PZ2.

Does this look about right? I screwed them so they won’t touch the ribs on the frame, and from the underside because the frames an awkward shape

Cracking job, couplers look good, can be a bit fiddly but they will certainly reduce any whip you'll get when closing that slab, the clip on ones you linked to just clip frames together, ok if they are fixed windows but door and side panels need heavy duty ali couplers, well done good job

I got another door today and the couplers that came with it look horrendous, why anyone would want these is beyond me

They get covered by a box that sticks out 30mm from the frame like this:

So i’m now looking for a pair of this type:

I’ve e-mailed windowwidgets for a price and also asked the supplier of the door if they can swap them.

We used to get sent same as your first picture, can't say I ever liked them . Changed supplier about 6 years ago and now get the type in your second picture, much better finish all round imho. You shoyld find they are very similar to the ones you had on your first door

Yes, the trim is the same so it should look identical.

The supplier is refusing to swap them, Window Widgets won’t deal with me direct. The supplier has an account with Window Widgets but won’t order them for me

Any idea where I can buy a pair of the WWL150 style ones?

Hi Ian
Try your local GAP I have had the same off them or very similar. I think you will find plaster board bits fit better than pozi 2's in baypole screws. Looking good (y)

Thanks :). I got some smaller ones from a place called Windowplas in Bolton, £22 for the couplers and trims.

They are these ones:

The wider bits catch the ‘fins’ on the door and while they are smaller the metal is thicker so hoping they will do the trick.

Hi Ian
