Lead flashing spoils look of dorma

My dorma window was leaking badly in to bedroom. Dorma window currently being fixed by a roofing company,new water gates and dorma covered with fire stone rubber it looks great now but the lead flashing at the front of window still the same and being an old house this lead is old and really spoils the look of the dorma which looks brand new. Can you advise if I can paint this or make it look better

I'm not sure neon lights or something else would make it look any better in context of the rest of the house.
