But the whole purpose of the election, according to Johnson, is to resolve the Brexit deadlock. Of course, it might not work out as planned - it didn't last time.

I assume the Tories will get in. They will spend the next year getting nowhere, Johnson will cause more and more dither and delay.

If the Johnson deal gets passed, that wont solve brexit. The Tory cabinet are totally incompetent, they have zero chance of getting any FTA with the EU so the same arguments will rumble on.
At the end of the transition, nothing will be sorted and we will be back to no deal, Irish border, divorce bill.

The 'get brexit done' slogan will become rather worthless when it becomes obvious brexit will dominate parliament for years.
Brexiteers will get pizzed off when they discover getting the WAB through does nothing tiwards getting brexit done.

Who knows? Perhaps the people of Uxbridge & S.R. will chuck out Johnson.

That would be fun no matter what else happens.

We have a leadership debate for an election where we do not directly elect the PM.

Even if Boris lost he will still remain leader and would either become a Lord or simply ask a backbencher with a safe majority to step down and win the by-election.

Corbyn should push the agenda that voting Tory is voting for no deal - which it is.

It will force Johnson to either agree and alienate Tory moderates or Johnson will insist that his manifesto will rule outno deal.....which will upset ERG and Brexiteers.

Humans breathing contribute a lot, how many trees will need to be planted to balance it out ?

But where does our carbon come from? Unless you eat coal and drink oil, the carbon you exhale comes from the plants you eat, which have taken carbon from the atmosphere to grow, so more people does not mean more CO2 pollution from human breath.

Next.

I think the point is 'wow' to the fact our carbon footprint in comparison to someone like the US and China is more of a sparrow's claw.

So humans born from now on won't exhale co2 ? You do talk sh1t. If one person emits approx 700 grams per day, how much will 2 people emit , more, less or the same?

Yes, more people will exhale more CO2. But they do not get it from fossil fuels, it comes from the food they eat. i.e. we are sustainable. In fact, fat people store CO2, so actually help reduce the CO2 in circulation!

The problem is not people eating potatoes and chickens and then breathing out. The problem is burning 93 million barrels of oil a day, along with burning coal, gas, cutting down forests (that are even more effective at storing carbon than fat people), all in the name of industry.

And then there's waste - how much carbon is released to produce a plastic bottle that is used in a day then discarded? In 2015, the world created 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic - all of this comes from fossil fuels, with huge waste in the process. If it is burned, then toxins as well as CO2 is released into the atmosphere.

I think the point is 'wow' to the fact our carbon footprint in comparison to someone like the US and China is more of a sparrow's claw.

Doesn't sound much to you, but I bet the sparrow doesn't agree with your views!

We all need to do our bit. And if Britain wants to be a global leader then it must lead, and not just sit back and do nothing. The green economy is growing and employing more people, with other traditional industry and manufacturing falling it makes sense to increase investment here.
