Hi there - we have a Grant Vortex wall hung oil boiler. It's been giving us some problems locking out all the time, and we've had a plumber visit and carry out various things, which have got it working for a bit... and then it lock out again. So far, they've changed the photocell, the control box and now the capacitor... so far it's working. However today, I noticed that when I was outside the usual smell from the boiler's flue smelt different - almost like a gas smell, rather than the usual smell we get when it's burning... can anyone shed any light on why the smell has changed - and if I should be concerned! (Just to add, there's no smells inside the house).
Thanks for your help!

He didn't provide a print out of the Flue Gas readings this time, so I'm not sure what they are..?

Favourite on these is if the access cover is fastened too tightly, the insulation blocks the flue gas passage resulting in lockouts, (and lots of soot). A flue gas analysis would be helpful.
