Lift concrete floor 10mm for engineered wood floor

Hi,
There are loads of similar posts here but I haven't found one with my exact situation...
I have an approx 60m² area of floor I want to cover with an engineered wood flooring that is 11mm thick.
40m² of the floor is covered in 10mm thick tiles and the rest of the floor is carpeted on top of a smooth concrete slab. Ideally I would not lift the tiles as that seems like it will be a lot of effort. So the alternative would be to lift the smaller area of floor 10mm to meet the height of the tiles then lay the underlay and the engineered wood over the whole lot.
Could I just put 2 layers of 5mm fibreboard down? Or 10mm ply? Self levelling compound sounds like a lot of hassle when the floor is level but just not the correct height.

What about 10mm of the XPS insulation boards? It’s cheap and has (apparently) a very high compressive strength.

Cheapest way take the tiles up.
Or smoothing compound at 10mm to height of the tiles. Could use Timemaster level flex.

Thanks both, @dazlight (or anybody else) would you predict problems using 10mm XPS board? It seems a lot cheaper and more likely easier, quicker and cleaner to implement. Levelflex would be 17 bags worth at least.
