Okay so ive gone back to copper, grying to copy the cold pipe. Will I definitely need to secure it to the wall or cabinet?

A marked improvement Richie. Yes it would need clipping of some sort, you also have a kink in the flexi on the vertical. Also can’t tell much from photo, and I should have pointed it out before, the hot pipe should be above the cold to prevent undue warming (water regulations).

That was how the person who did it previously laid it out , but it makes sense. Yes I’m planning to add a tee and use a shorter flexi tap so that should solve the kink. Thanks again.

calling me a bodge.

They're not calling you a bodge @Richieduliban , they're calling the job a bodge.

If you have compressed/bent/twisted the flexi pipe braiding then that can create a weak point for the pressure in the internal rubber pipe to exploit. Not a good idea to use a damaged flexi long term. Just something to remember when fitting the new one.
