Hi, just recently moved into a new house that has this boiler in. The pressure seems low and I’d like to top up.

The flexi hose and tap doesn’t seem to fill the system. Do I need to do something the other end of it?

Also, the boiler randomly fires every few hours... is this normal? Possibly to keep the hot water on demand?

Boiler will be replaced early in the new year but hopefully not before!

Thanks.

you have a Vokera Linea, the valve on the far right hand side , move the black lever from the 12 oclock position to the 6 oclock position and the system will fill , when it gets to 1.5 Bar switch it back to the 12 oclock position, to stop it firing every few hours you will have to disable the pre heat

Thank you. I had tried that with the lever but it doesn’t seem to fill.
If I remove the filling loop it is under pressure so I can’t understand why it won’t pressurise the system.

is the disabling on the pre heat relatively simple?

To disable the pre- heat you remove the jumper on JP6 on the pcb, to enable it again you put the jumper back on JP6, you need to turn the power to the boiler off to do this

Thanks. That’s great and was a quick fix.

In terms of pressuring it up... changing the handle doesn’t seem to add water in. Do I need to do something with the other end of the filling loop?!

That is a non return valve and they are prone to sticking, you said that there was pressure when you undid the filling link hose there shouldnt be, there will be a little bit of water, if you remove the hose at that end and put the hose in to some kind of container and open the three way vave at the other end and see if water comes out under pressure, there should be no water coming from the end you have removed the hose from, if the water does come out when the 3 way valve is opened then the non return valve has jammed and will need replaced

Thanks. Sorry, didn’t explain myself well. There’s only water coming out when I turn the tap of the filling hose on.

It doesn’t come out what I now know is a non return valve.

It looks as though it can be twisted perhaps?! Is that not the case?
