I am putting stick down lvt tiles in my kitchen including the old side of the kitchen which is joined with the extension and new kitchen by an arch. There is a 5mm difference in height how would you deal with that in putting in a new floor? The flooring is going through to the small porch at the back, the cloakroom and the study.

is the kitchen floor 5mm higher or lower than the "dining room" side?
what material is covering the "dining room" floor?

and the floor has carpet but I want to have let stick down tiles through the whole area

Lift the carpet and screed the kitchen floor to the height of the existing concrete floor. Then go over the whole area with a coat of self leveller to give a smooth surface to fix the tiles too.

something like Ardit NA compound would be perfect.
