Galaxy flex GX remote app

Just coming back to this thread as I stumbled across the answer to what happened to the Push Notifications in Android Gx Remote Control app!

I got an update of my App for my Hikvision CCTV, and it had a link incorporated of what to do if the Push Notifications stopped working on Android. I never noticed the problem for my CCTV as I didn't use the Push Notifications, but I applied the same approach to GX Remote Control and it restored the Push Notifications so I'm happy about that!

First point: I was wrong in my previous post. Something on my phone clearly did change that stopped the Push Notifications. Most likely this was an update of Android O/S that automagically made set up changes on my phone. The problem is a phone-level setting and nothing to do with the Honeywell app itself.

Second point: I have a Samsung phone so the precise changes you need to make may be slightly different than for me due to Samsungification of vanilla Android.

So on your phone go to:

Settings / Device Maintenance / Battery

At the top of this screen it gives estimated battery life as percentage and in hours, with a button below which says "Battery Usage".

Select "Battery Usage", then the 3 dots in the top right of the "Battery Usage" page and "Optimise battery usage".

Change the drop-down to "All Apps" and locate "Gx Remote Control" app and ensure the slider is "off".

Return to Settings / Device Maintenance / Battery

Scroll down and select "Unmonitored Apps"

Click "Add Apps" and select "Gx Remote Control".

Select "Gx Remote Control" to access its "Application Info" and scroll down to "App Settings". Click on "Notifications" and switch on "Allow notifications".

Hope this helps someone else!

Hi, you need to install the app, then click on further instructions.

I just stumbled across this thread.
Been curious to get the gx app running with notifications.
I followed the instructions from this thread but i get a COMM FAIL COM 4 when I try the engineer test.

Com 4, I know is the ethernet module. This is working as I can connect with the gx app.

I've tried the IP address listed in the instructions and also the IP address the the gx app supplied along with the account number.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

For the Honeywell reporting, you need to set the protocol as SIA and the port that they tell you. If you use SelfMon reporting, the protocol should be set to Microtech. Some of the older Ethernet modules are problematic and give com errors. The latest module V4.16 doesn't suffer from these issues and is recommended.

Are you receiving the push, but also getting the com4 error or, nothing. If you have RSS can you send me a copy of your site and I'll check to see what's wrong. Also, which panel type is it?

Hi All,

I have installed the GX Remote Mobile application, unfortunately I cannot register and get the account number for push notification. Anyone can help on this?

Thanks
Sreenil

What is the issue you are having with registration ? You need to have connected to your control panel with the app first, then register to gain the account number and server IP address.

Thank you, I did it. Now I have managed to register the Push notification. I will test the Alarm from site.

Hey everyone,
May it's not the good place for this question:
GX remote notification looks to work but no message / details are received :(
It's only a GX notification from "site name" (my site 'ame).
May i done something wrong?
Thanks
