Replacing Storage heaters help needed

OK - I just checked again and bottled gas (in 15kg bottles) comes out at about 50% more than electricity. Relatively easy to do the calc. 15kg of butane is equivalent to 205 kWHr and costs around £45.

I didn't realise i was getting such a good price on gas (£32.50 2 days ago) but you're quite right, even at my price it is still about £0.17/kwh. Perception is a strange thing- the gas heater (handed down through the family) seems to emit more heat and keep the place warmer more cheaply than the radiant electric heater i had (and quieter than the fan heater)- will have to do some more objective testing, hadn't run that particular calc til you mentioned it.

Their big selling points back in the day, was you could use them anywhere needed and you knew you wouldn't end up in debt with one/ you paid for the gas first.
