The US is very litigious and Obstetritcs Drs have some of the highest indemnity insurance costs, also the Hospital will charge you for standby staff even if you do not need it so they can avoid any future law suits because they were under staffed. US healthcare is mental.

A baby was treated with a nap and a bottle of formula. His parents received an $18,000 bill.
An ER patient can be charged thousands of dollars in “trauma fees” — even if they weren’t treated for trauma.

American hospital bills today are littered with multiplying fees, many of which don’t even exist in other countries: fees for blood draws, fees for checking the blood oxygen level with a skin probe, fees for putting on a cast, minute-by-minute fees for lying in the recovery room.
Can't see a system like that coming to the UK.
How many people would have that sort of money to pay these sort of charges.
People moan about having to pay even basic tax and N. I.
So how will they react to having to pay huge premiums for private health insurance.
The trauma Wards at A&E will be full of punters who have just received their medical bills.

Don't worry, they can use the extra £350,000,000 a week Boris promised us to make the failing private systems work better.

Well, if it did go to an American style health service, it won’t be as bad as everyone fears because we won’t have people flying in from all over the world (£19.99 from many European destinations) for thousands of pounds worth of free operations and healthcare.

You don't honestly still believe that do you? You do know that Europeans are charged for treatment, don't you? The NHS sends a bill to their country. And many European countries have a much better health service than the UK, so why would they make the journey here?

You want the best health service in Europe, you go to France, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Switzerland or Luxembourg. UK is not on the list!

Immigrants haven't broken the NHS, the government has. After a tory win and brexit, the NHS will still be broken. Who are you going to blame then?

Not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things but it does appear a bit one-sided.

You wouldnt be able to afford it. Not decent cover especially if you have had cancer. No one would cover you. Your too big a risk.

Death Cult.

Same old claptrap of foreign people using the NHS is what you focus on. Its like seeing a man bleeding out but you focus on a chipped tooth.

It’s not all about me. Despite what you and others say, foreigners are costing the NHS a bloody fortune but of course, figures can be manipulated to show otherwise. Those in the NHS know different. Sick of telling you so that’s it from me on this subject.

Your kids wouldnt be able to afford decent cover unless they worked for a blue chip, and even then the deductibles run into the thousands.

But if thats what you want.

Utter BS. Its costing a fraction of a percent - about 1/4 if 1% and thats all you can see.

Wonder why we question your sanity.

U
We have more older people living abroad in the EU, older people use more healthcare.

Younger Europeans in the UK use less.

Are you that much of a gullible sod?

Really?

Mr Mann described the pensioner explanation as a "myth".

He told Sky News: "We're not sending pensioners to Poland, only 30,000 UK citizens are living in Poland.

"There are over half a million Poles in this country and yet we are paying four times more to Poland for health care recharges, than they pay to us.

"The NHS is losing out on huge amounts of money every single week."

Don’t worry, it’ll soon stop after Thursdays vote. (y)
