My son just bought new house which included the above fridge, the house had been empty for about 6 months and the fridge was switched off in that time. When it was switched on the first time it seem to work briefly and froze some water in the freezer. We then adjusted the temperature control on a dial which is marked 1 to 5. Since then no matter what we do it refuses to to freeze up. The motor seems to be working judging by the noise and the light comes on.
There is also a switch beneath the internal light which we think is a fast freeze switch but this does not have any effect, Not to sure if this switch should be up or down to have any effect.
Is this a major problem or is it beyond repair.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Wrong part of the forum, I think.

This is Audio Visual. It's the place for discussion about stereos and tellies and Sky and Blu-ray etc. Ask the mods move your post to the relevant forum :) Good luck sorting the freezer issue.

There is a good chance remaining water has frozen and clogged the ducts with ice.

Turn it off again, open the doors, let the melt water drain out (this may take a couple of days). Pull it out from the wall and clean out the water dish. Keep sponging the water out.

Leave the doors open for a day after you stop seeing water drip out.

It may then need cleaning to remove mould from the inside.

Many thanks John I will try that, just one thing and excuse my ignorance but where are the ducts and where is the water dish.

Very many thanks John, that seems to have done the trick, not only did you fix the problem but you have saved son No 3 a few hundred pounds. I'm now in line for a decent Christmas present. :D
