Stripping windows high up

I've got some sash windows to strip of multiple layers of paint which are 2 floors up in a victorian block with other flats below.
I can get the windows out no problem and strip them inside but I need to find a good way of stripping the frames without all the cr*p ending up in the outdoor area of the flats below.
The windows are recessed by one brick course so I thought about hanging a sheet over the window on the outside but with the slightest gust of wind the sheet won't be holding in all the flakes of (lead) paint coming off or landing on the window sill.
I also don't really like the idea of hanging out the window 2 floors up trying to fix a board over the window or similar!

Anyone had any clever ideas when doing this?

Why do you need to strip the sash boxes?

I have never understood why anyone burns off paint that is relatively sound when you can normally sand it back.

If you are trying to ensure that the sashes glide freely then speak to someone at Mightons. They will be able to advise you which glides to insert and which new draftless parting and sash beads to use.

The paint isn’t sound unfortunately after a variety of bad paint jobs over the years. Lots of flaking & too much paint. I’ve already got draft strips/beads & new pulleys from Mighton ready to go in.
