Gardtec 816

sparkymarka
as I said I installed this 25x years ago and have done very little with it and cant find the manuals
I'm assuming I would have changed the default master code but don't know what to
I have always just gone in on the engineers code - added battery, extra window knockers etc.

What I don’t understand is ....it’s all lcd menu driven ....and it’s pretty straightforward....you don’t change user codes from engineering ...you are saying you have tried to change / add extra code , so you have either altered the the eng code or you have changed some other setting ...

Sorry I was away working down south most of last week so didn't have time to get back at this
I was trying to add a new user code but didn't have any manual
I clearly got confused and appear to have tried to add a keypad to the system which its seems to have accepted even though no keypad is fitted
when you set the system it has Kypad 3 TAMPER - Check !!!!!

its saying Can't set! use Engnr+Anti 3150

You will definitely need the eng code if the panel is locked.
You will need to default the codes(if the panel is not locked).

but the issue seems to be it keeps locking due to it thinks I have a third keypad and so has a tamper fault

can I not put a link or change the wiring to stop it coming up with keypad 3 tamper fault

changing the codes isn't going to change the tamper fault

Something is missing ?
Can't imagine a system 25 yrs approx on engineer anticode reset ? and not had an activation that requires system to be reset.
This control panel is menu driven.
If changing a code from engineering then you have changed the engineer code and not the master/ user code.
You need to go into keypad menu to tell system how many keypads are installed and also select the jumper on the keypad pcb .
Think a code default is required for a start and sort keypad programming before you do anything else?
