OK last year on a shoot i was introduced to Plymouth Sloe Gin, fk me what a revelation especially on a sunny crisp morning i was positively flying around the fields, i was gifted a bottle on departure from the day out maybe i hinted a few times i liked it.

Anyway i ran out this week so popped into our local Waitrose for a refill. I've never been a fan of Gin but this is exceptional, and i see lots of other variants/flavoured gins have popped up now, can anyone here guide me on any others i may try that could match the epicness of Sloe gin or even a variant of the Plymouth variety?

Thankyou of kindly.

A bit late now for this year but there are still sloes on the trees so why not make a bottle or two of your own and lay it down for next year? Very easy to do. (y)

Good idea. I'm going to get my liver a bottle for Christmas. "Waitrose you say"?

If you can't find exactly what your looking for you can have your own unique bespoke gin made to your specifications. Plenty of places do it.

Just got the Plymouth.
Oooh ooh mr peevly!! The Sloe one?

What do you think? If i was an alcoholic this would be the one, there's not much i can neck and i am an alcohol lightweight but this rings my ringadingding.

It's a Christmas present for me other side. I don't think it will go down sloe. It's all the rage this Gin. Bishop's Stortford have a Gin Palace.
Must be good

What will we have with it?,,,,,,,, Tonic?
No you drink it neat, well i do. It's a flavour all of it's own, i wouldn't normally associate it with gin flavour wise. I can't stand straight Gin n Tonic bleugh.

Not a tonic fan, and never thought to drink gin neat (seems too alky to try so hard to pour booze down one's neck.....)
.... and mixing gin with lemonade is just pointless, completely overpowers the gin.

Plymouth standard gin is quality. One of my favourite summer drinks with slug of tonic, ice and slice. Never had the sloe variety. How do you drink it? Neat/mixed? As a short/shot or larger amount in bigger glass?

Also, not sure about trying the Pickerings sprout gin.
