Hi guys,

so my peugeot 306 1999 model (diesel) has a slight problem, the blower isnt working, so the windows arent being cleared. when you turn the settings up from 0 to 4 on the blower, its sounds like its working, but no air actually coming out, regardless of which position or setting is on. On other forums etc people have suggested it might be the air filter blocked or the fan blocked / come off etc..? What are you thoughts and can you help me on how to access these parts on the car?

First, check the fan is actually working....ignition on, engine off. The fan speed should rise from slow (1) to full on (4) in steps. If it doesn't then its the fan resistor has failed - but the system will work on (4).
If that is ok, then check the pollen filter (if the car has air conditioning) and replace that......You tube is good to show you where it is.
If still no joy, then one of the plastic ducts that go from the blower motor to the vents has come adrift - under the dashboard area.

Check the cabin filter first. I’m not sure where it is on your car but I use Mahle filters and the location of the filter is always printed on the inside of the box.

Nice vehicle, the 306 but I can't recall ever doing a pollen filter......maybe its like the Citroen ZX, only the continentals got one o_O

Here what is looks like under the scuttle below the windscreen, which I took off. This is some sort of semi hard plastic, and apparently the air flows from underneath it? Not sure.. Should I take that off? And how?

Perhaps the flaps that alter the air direction screen/face/feet are not working and are stuck closed? Cable detached?

Peter, I think that is just a plastic splash cover for the wiper motor - I don't think the internal air flow goes from there.
Have you tried my fan running test?
With the undertray covers (above the feet wells) pulled clear, can you feel any air flow with the fan on full?

I dont have aircon, just the blower and according to sources, this car should not have a pollon filter (I guess?).. The settings work like they should, so i guess it could be the final on, maybe.
