When were mains (230V/240V) underwater lights banned?

Mains pond pumps are allowed, but I am sure back in the 50's/60's/70's there used to be 240v underwater lights feed straight from the mains used in ponds and commercial fountains. I was under the impression that these are no longer allowed and I wanted to know when did this change and under what regulation?

It would seem if they comply with BS EN 60598 then allowed under BS7671:2008 not got either BS EN 60598 or BS7671:2018 so maybe changed. But you need to be able to service from behind the unit, so limited where they can be used.
