Plymouth standard gin is quality. One of my favourite summer drinks with slug of tonic, ice and slice. Never had the sloe variety. How do you drink it? Neat/mixed? As a short/shot or larger amount in bigger glass?

Also, not sure about trying the Pickerings sprout gin.

Sloe gin variety neat for me. Hmm a sort of double measure or more, normally leads onto another one if it's friday night. (although i never drink during the week!)

Google says:

"Sloe gin is traditionally sipped neat or as a hot toddy cocktail according to Joanne, but it works lovely chilled too. 'I would suggest using ice if drinking in cold cocktails such as a sloe gin and ginger ale,' Joanne recommends. 'Or just add a shot to a chilled glass of Prosecco"

Sloe Gin and Champagne is an experience, goes down far too easily though!.

My friend had a Gin day given as a present, he went around the distillery and then made his own blend and brought a bottle home. They gave him a unique code so he can order more when required.

It tasted great, he went for lower Juniper than normal iirc.

You can make your own gin out of vodka, after all it's nigh on the same stuff.

Indlovo gin from. Sith Africa

Has Elephant Dung as an ingredient :)

Sloe gin I really like (home made) as it obliterates the disgusting flavour of gin completely. Do these other flavours that I see on the market to the same? I've never bought any because if it's just a hint of other fruit flavours it would end up down the sink.

Fruit beers, now there's an affront to one's taste buds, almost as bad as pineapple on a pizza, so very very wrong.

Agree. Went on a cross channel booze cruise some years ago when they relaxed the amounts you could bring back. As well as the industrial quantities of cheap, rubbish lager I thought it would be a good idea to get a 12 pack of raspberry beer. Think it's still in the back of the garage somewhere.

Also, few years ago, bought a bottle of Youngs chocolate beer. Expected it to taste like beer with chocolate. Instead it just tasted like beer mixed with cocoa powder. Not sweet like a bar of CDM - but very bitter. Not nice.

Have to admit that Hawaiian pizzas (+ mushrooms) are my favourite, though.
