hi......just a quickie if I don't replace the long black wing nut that screws on to the inside of the back light lens will it fall out

It shouldn’t Mick, there are two screws and poppers to hold it in as well.
The thumbscrew just pulls the lamp onto the rubber gasket, I think.

yes the two screws are in John it's just that it's a swine to screw back in I will keep an eye on it for water leaks thanks and merry Christmas.

Two screws on the outside are just fine. We have an i20 with only the two outer screws on the rear lamps and its been fine for 10 years. Changed the rear sidelights on a 2013 Fiesta a while back and it had the additional inner screw to contend with. Ford have come up with some daft ideas in the modern era.
