I am after a recommendation for a hoover which I can use to clear up the occasional DIY but also to use it for the car. I’ve previously used a Henry hoover for car cleaning but it wasn’t man enough for the DIY tasks...

Thanks in advance.

I have an Aldi stainless steel wet and dry. It has a power take off so when attached to a sander, it automatically starts and carries on for about 10 seconds after you stop sanding

Good suction as well. Was about £50

Thanks guys. Can either of these be attached to my Makita circular saw and jigsaw for dust extraction?

What ever you get make sure it has a means to blow or knock off the dust that blocks the inside of the collection bag. This can happen quite quickly with power tool dust collection and long before the bag is anywhere full..
I have the Lidl pnts1500 which has been pretty good in the two years I've had it,,if a little noisy when turned to full speed. It has an adaptor for several different diameter dust collection tubes

I’m surprised the ‘Enry struggles.....mine fills the bag completely full without complaint, every time - I use after market green paper bags.
I have a cranked tube squashed in the vice to get into car crevices.
John :)

My Henry used to fill the bag on general hoovering without a problem it struggled if conected to the sander, I had to repeatedly lift and drop it on its wheels to dislodge the stuff off the lining to make him happy again:)

Consider getting yourself a Charles. It's as good as a Henry, a little larger, but also has a wet vac function it is so freeking handy for plumbing jobs and whatnot.

I guess that will be the same for all cleaners, I have a Ryobi wet and dry for chimney cleaning which has a bag plus a large paper filter.
With the exhaust on this one I have a large diameter flexible pipe thats long enough to pass through a window should either filter fail.

This one looks very similar to my Ryobi machine, which has been just fine.
Before purchasing though, do some googling just to see if both filters are readily available.
John :)

You can attach power tools to the suction hose which you can with lots of vacs with a simple adaptor /duct tape but doesn't seem to have an actual 3 pin socket for a tool to auto switch which is pretty handy.
