Hi, i ran out of oil for my boiler, had oil delivered today, i tried to bleed the oil at burner, sometimes it came out foamy, sometimes nothing, did it quite a lot but it doesnt change.

Wondered if it might have to be disconected before the burner to try and get the oil flowing? or it might be the fire valve? i have got a pic of the valve as i wondered if it had tripped. its quite an old fire valve, it has tripped once quite a few years ago but i thought the bit on the top came up a lot more when it was tripped? but i could be wrong.

any advice would be appreciated, as i thought this would just come back on and its freezing! not to mention now the weekend and i doubt i would be able to get anyone out till at least monday now.

thanks

Check for oil at each joint from the tank. Make sure you have bled filters if they are the sort that needs it.
If the oil line is long and uneven, you may need to use suction. A piece of clear pipe pushed over the pipework at the boiler end will ensure you see the oil before it reaches your mouth.
