Driveway Lights

Hi
Can anyone recommend an exterior light I could fit above my garage door that would light up my driveway as I come up the drive, but without blinding anyone? The driveway comes up a hill then onto the flat so would maybe have to be able to point down the drive

As a quick fix, I got 4 solar lights, one has failed, but the three remaining do a really good job. Bright enough to see where walking, but not bright enough to blind when driving, and being solar can mount even where no electric supply.

I found in last house if I reversed up the drive the PIR would not switch on the light, it only lit as I got out of the car. Front engine car.

Is there no alternative arrangement, whereby you could have several low power fittings along the length of the driveway? Floodlights etc are pretty poor generally speaking as a sole lighting source.

Depending on where you position them try Mpow LED Solar Lights.

I have used them as you describe and they work for me, pretty cheap too.

Thanks for reply. Ive tried solar lights before, no use. Im just after a standard light I can put above the garage door that will light up my drive

Well, I have the larger Mpow lights above my garage door and don't get blinded so something of similar power may work for you.

LED strip? I have been thinking of something similar as the garage is in a dark corner away from street lighting. My thought was the strip mounted along the length of the garage door frame (up and over type) on the filler strip above and then add a length of wood to hide the light such that the light floods the door

This may not suit your garage?
