I have seen Both, Which is correct?

Brilliant. Does that mean that the first two are wrong after all? o_O

Think it might be dry January..... The booze and tablets Woody took worked wonders for him helping me out.
I'm still getting counselling since then. I've booked a few more sessions to cover me until your drive is finished.

I hope this helps:

Alternatively you could fit straight into the web (with the additional need to provide suitable strutting to prevent rotation) but there's less info about this around - presumably because the joist hanger makers can't sell you anything if you do it that way!

I have decided to go for the latter using 47x200 timbers. Even allowing for strutting it works out very little cost difference to using a web Packer and hangars.

Structurally either would do.
But however you do it, you need to end up with the top of the timber joist at least 10mm above the top of the steel beam. Why? Over time, once the central heating is on, the joists will dry out and shrink; if you initially set them level with the top of the steel, once the timbers shrink, you will end up with a 'hump' over the steel beam as the flooring gets forced up.

No1 option and use face fix hangers.

No point using hangers that go over the top, you cant fix it.
