Are fuses for this box hard to get hold of?

I never mentioned compliance. I was talking about correct terminology. Given Winston/GeorgeCooke's obsession with it he could aim to get it right.

Many things are circuit breakers. Some are minature, some are moulded case, some are RCBO's. It's quite a leap to say that MCB is no longer the correct terminology just because the "circuit breaker" term is used in the big book.

It is a fact that BS7671 has not recognised the term "MCB" since 2008.

So what?

If we just say CB, how will you know which device we mean?
Very easily, given that the other devices will be referred to as ACBs; MCCBs; RCBOs; RCCBs or whatever.

There is absolutely no confusion in BS7671 as to which devices are being referred to as "circuit breakers".

There isn't but that is because it uses the BS number of the device.

Do you think it sensible for us to ask DIYers if the device that is tripping is a BS60898, BS61008 (or BS61009) rather than the common names?

I know we argue about totally unimportant things sometimes because someone writes something silly, but this must take the biscuit.

Not seen any GeorgeCooke in this or any other thread.
