Hello. I am trying to put up a small bannister and I am having an absolute mare. As you can see I have made a balls up and the metal wall anchors just go straight through. Can anyone recomend what kind of plugs and size I should be using or would I be better fitting a 2x2 bit of timber (pictured) and attached the bannister to that? if so what plugs/screws would I need? PS sorry for being so dopey.

Bannister on plasterboard walls would have to be fixed to vertical studwork or it will rip off the wall.
(That’s not 2x2 )

Can you find where the studs are? You may need to cut a section of the PB out, build some noggins in attached to the studs and re attach the plaster and skim the joint. I had to do this when a "plumber" tried to use plaster board fixings to hang rads weight around 35-40kg (wet).

these are also good if you haven't already buggered the PlasterBoard up
