was the labour membership (those who get to vote on who runs the labour party) heavily infiltrated by tories some time ago (it only cost a few quid to join), hence the backing of Corbyn (a leader they knew was unelectable) Is this why Long-Bailey is very likely the next leader as she is the most likely never to win a general election.
The Corbyn socialist ideology is self indulgent and as you say, never tested.
I heard that Corbyns dream was to produce a utopian manifesto with his complete wish list.....which he achieved along with a huge Tory majority.
