Hello found a leak on the soil pipe from where the boss meets soil pipe.

Any product I can use to fix it?

Thanks

Not in my experience, others may have a better option, my advice is cut it out and replace with maybe a short bossed pipe or McAlpine mechanical boss connector.

ok thanks. whats best way of shifting the conpression waste elbow going in the boss? pull and turn?

Doesn't look like a compression fitting ,not that the pic shows much of it.
Can you show more of it with another pic ?

got boss of now problem by hand, whatever
glue they had used they just put it on top bit only....

Was going to say, unclip the boss and see if it pulls off. You will need to clean the mating surfaces well, bit of 120grit paper and then a reasonable coating of solvent weld cement and refix.

Hi, can i ask are these parts all the same hole width?

the one i pulled off was from city plumbing but if i buy the boss somewhere else would it need a different hole size?

If I remember correctly different manufacturers can be slightly different, but if you buy the same brand one then it shouldn’t matter

Usually I use a 57mm bi metal cutter and never had a strap on boss that didn't fit into that. Is the one you took off broken as they can be re-used.

as Madrab, a 57mm cutter has worked across the board for me.

however, with any broken or leaking devices or fittings, then i throw them away and replace with new.
as with any hub and spigot, the key is to approach and connect straight on - no coming in at an angle, no matter how slight.
dry fitting the strap-on with a short stub of pipe will show if the angle is good.
after removing that strap-on fitting, then if needed, the hole can be developed with a half round file.

yeah, i know that we all force it now and again but its not a wise course for a DIY'er up a ladder.

The usual problem with these is that the pipe nor the boss has been prepared, if it's shiny black pipe then the glue sometimes won't break the surface, needs a bit of 120 grit on both surfaces to give the glue a key to get into the plastic, so it welds properly.
