ADT Galaxy Upgrade - looking for suggestions

Yeah cant get a fixed IP as I only have a 'residential' service. Are you saying I can 'selfmon' by paying them for there service to allow me to get alerts but I wont be able to use the GX control app from honeywell... or will selfmon allow me to use it?

You can use SelfMon for push notifications and ddns and line checking and it will only cost £1 month. You can also use the Selfmon ddns to connect to your panel using the Galaxy GX or Selfmon app.

Thanks GalaxyGuy... what modules do I need to make sure the panel has... is there a ethernet or wireless module or is it onboard?

Cheers buddy! That's what I thought... he was a bit vague regarding condition but you've got to be in it to win it lol
Looking forward to getting my hands on it.
Is there a best way to take the old unit out? If I pull the mains then disconnect the battery will it not sound?

Take the panel battery leads and using a two terminal block, connect the battery leads to 0v and +12V (this is the SAB hold off) on the cable powering the external siren. You can then use the battery to stop the external siren sounding while you disconnect all other connections and swap the panel over.

Other than that, if you have ladders, you can open the external siren (wear earplugs) and remove SAB battery jumpers, then swap everything over before powering back up.

So connect the battery power to these wires currently connected to SAB Hold?

Yes, remove the black and red going to the Bell and connect to the battery leads using a small 5a terminal block. Then connect to the battery. The siren will sound while doing this but at least when connected to the battery, it will silence.

Sound... Presumably this wants to be the 1st thing done to prevent it going off while everything else is disconnected? Will the new panel put power through the SAB Hold by default when powered up before being programmed?

Another quick Q (sorry)… connections 1 and 2 on the board are labelled 'E/T' and 'front door'...
As far as I can figure 'front door' is the magnetic contact on the front door … go figure
What is 'E/T'??? The doorbell sounds through the alarm's speakers... Is it that? ‍♂️
