stone door cill, condenstation,

Has anyone got any ideas on how I could make a cover for stone door cill (internally).

It's an old 9" brick house, and the cill is constantly covered in condensation in the winter months.

I've got a large piece of DPM over it currently, but it's unsightly.
I need to make a kind of step, which I could do in hardwood, but I'm reluctant to drill into the stone cill to attached the wooden step, I'm not sure glue onto the dpm would keep it in place.

Anyone done anything similar?
Will try to post pic later so you can see what's what.

There is a source of moisture. Where do you think the damp is coming from?

Is the floor solid, or wooden?

Door cills are usually outside?

Its a double skin width cill/threshold the house is 150 years +.

Not even sure if there is a damp course, so moisture could be rising.

Further to my original post, here a pic of what I'm trying to deal with.

The cill of the door is not damp, but had been at one time, overall I'd like to cover the DPM, obviously it's not level as you will notice.
Its' foam under the cill, not mortar.

Any advice appreciated.

Out of interest, If I removed it, what would I put back?

It appears to be a solid floor, paved with bricks.

So I think the damp is rising through the floor.

I wonder if it is rain penetration, groundwater, or plumbing leak.

Show us more of the wall inside and out please, so we can look for signs of damp.
