I'm reading more similar articles recently. I think it's fair to say they are indeed s**tting themselves, and quite frankly with good reason. I note Notch, Galahad, Noseall and JohnD's anger levels are rising by the day, which has to be a good sign.

Yeah, and I think it’s because they are not going to be allowed allowed to string out negotiations indefinitely. It’s been made quite clear to them that they must sort out arrangements before the end of the year or we leave with no deal.

Ha ha ha

If the UK wants a decent deal, negotiations will take time, its in the UKs interest.

If the UK wants a deadline of Dec to give uninformed brexiteers something to wet their pants with, the UK will have to capitulate a great deal to get a rubbish bare bones deal.

No deal just front loads economic damage for the UK, it is not a bargaining chip.
Oh and the EU have far more advanced plans in place for no deal. They have huge customs facilities built at Calais for customs checks and SPS checks.

Well, naturally I have no idea how badly or less badly it will go, but at least the strategy is right this time. Should have been that way from the outset, we're leaving, it's up to you to come up with terms that are acceptable to us. Was the only way to play it.
