Bathroom mould and damp attic

My bathroom ceiling gets very mouldy.

I've been up the attic to see if I can improve the insulation but noticed it was damp due to the void where the extractor fan ducting comes through.

What's the best way to resolve this. For the minute I've stuffed the hole with some insulation but that's just going to get wet and soak through.

Fan is ineffective, needs replacing with more powerful unit.Does the ducting contain any water ? May have fried the fan .Is fan used with every use of the room?
Do you dry washing in the bathroom ?

Yep fan is useless. Doesn't even hold a square of toilet paper up. It's always dripping water due to the way it has been installed. New one on the way today.

I am thinking of re routing the ducting into the eaves to stop water entering again and so I can seal up the roof. Does this sound sensible ?

You only get condensation in ducting if run is too long or fan too weak.Unlikely to be coming thru vent .

Looking at your first pic, there’s evidence of water coursing down the vent corrugated pipe.
Is the outside flashing in good order, where the vent exits the roof?
